The Japaneseusedcars.com EDC Drift Demo hits Zaragoza for second year running

Last weekend saw the return of JapaneseUsedCars.com EDC to Spain's 5th biggest City, Zaragoza. Attending the Motorshow Festival, EDC put on a display of professional drifting within the shows live action arena. As well as EDC cars, the arena also hosted some Lotus F1 cars from the sixties and seventies, race prototypes, stunt bikes and quads as well as competition of super moto all on the same weekend! .As with 2007 when we also attended, the show attracted a large number of visitors over the weekend ( 120000 last year ) with 6 halls of exhibition, with varying models of cars and products on display from many eras of motoring.

Drivers from EDC that put on the display this year were :

2007 EDC Champion Brett Castle in the Abbey Motorsport Nissan S14a
SVA Imports works driver Mark Luney in the luminous 350Z
Driftworks driver Ben Broke Smith in his Toyota Chaser
Polish drift champion Maciej Polody and the Santa Pod Raceway Nissan Skyline

The drivers put on 6 displays throughout the weekend with each display the cars running three times each show. Although within a restricted area, the drivers demonstrated 4th drifting in front of the live arena crowds of upto 5000 people each show with great applause and cheers, once again proving the popularity of drifting and tyre smoking action in Spain.

The Motorshow Festival proves to be a show which is unlike any other in Spain or indeed in Europe with such a vast crowd attending and motor cars and parts from a huge selection of manufacturers dating back 60 years from new cars to classics and odd-ball vehicles that time forgot.
